"Egyptian" Stool Thomas Hope c.1804 Inspired by Napoleon's expedition along the Nile in 1799, the design of this stool appears in his book of Household Taste published in 1804 together descriptions of its upholstery. The fabric used was fully researched for the restoration of the Hope suite of furniture from his Duchess street, London home which was acquired by the Power House Museum in 1986 Custom hand woven black and gold Regency pendant fringe in silk to match his drawings
